When you get a new fabric line, cut 2-3 different HPQ combinations and display them with the fabric line...this makes it easy to encourage customers to choose backing and binding from the coordinating bolts.
Be sure that any fabrics that you use in your Half Pack kits have
at least 43 inches of usable fabric between the salvage edges

Mix and Match from different fabric manufacturers. Select fabrics that have the same theme, color way or genre.
Don't forget about the batiks!!!! Batiks make amazing Half Pack Quilts and Tippy Totes, so if you carry batiks....try making some into HPQs.

Half Pack 1/2 yards are to be cut at 18 1/2 inches for several reasons:
1. This gives a bit of wiggle room for cuts that aren't quite exact
2. The finished pack fits snuggly into our custom Trademarked bags so that it lays flat and doesn't shift around which helps prevent fraying

A sharp 60mm rotary cutter, or electric fabric scissors or clippers will easily cut thru a stack of 5 fabrics. Stacking the 5 fabrics and cutting multiple HPQs at once saves a lot of time!

A well-folded and correctly packaged Half Pack kit sends the message that it has value and that it is something that your customers should want to purchase. '
On the other hand, a messy Half Pack kit sends a very different, negative message to customers.

All Half Pack fabrics should be folded in at a diagonal from the **Right Top Corner**, adjusting the folds so that all the fabrics can be seen equally. The point of doing this is so the customers can clearly see all the fabrics that are included in the kit without opening the package and pulling them all out. NOTE: the photo shown is of fabrics that are folded too thin and it is impossible to see the designs on the coordinating fabrics.

Once you get the Half Pack fabrics evenly folded and spaced, it's a good idea to give them a light press or steam to make sure they stay in place. This also gives a crisp look to your folds.

The folded fabric corners should be in the right top of the bag with our Sassy Sunflower label in the left bottom corner. Whether you are selling them on your website, at a quilt show, or in your shop, Half Pack fabric kits **MUST BE** in our Trademarked bags! **This is important, and is a Requirement for ALL of our Half Pack distributers!**

Repurposing magazine/book racks for Half Packs is a GREAT idea, and makes it easy for customers to see multiple designs by simply spinning the display

It is SO IMPORTANT to have a sample of each of the Half Pack Quilts!
Even if you don't have a large wall space for display, there are many creative ways to hang them to make it easier for your customers to pick the pattern of their choice.

If customers can see the HPQ samples, and fabric kits all together, it makes it easier for you to explain how the program works.

If customers can’t see it, it doesn’t exist. Showcase your Half Packs in a hanging display makes it easy for customers to see all the choices. If using this display method, remember to reinforce the closure flap with a piece of clear packing tape.

Fabric selection for Half Pack kits is a big reason customers return again and again, often multiple times during the same show. Creating the kits by pairing newly released fabrics with coordinating blenders, keeping the selection fresh. This approach works well for retail sales, enabling customers to buy newly released fabric collections with a clear project in mind.

One key point is making sure customers understand that the sample quilts are meant to illustrate patterns, not fabric choices. Advise customers to pick their favorite fabric pack first, then use the samples to find the best pattern to showcase it.

Once suggestion for display is to use a metal grid with baskets to hold the kits and hang a rod with a sample of each quilt. This setup allows customers to see the fabric kits clearly.
